The drive up to the campsite had been unremarkable, but that was a good thing as far as Sara was concerned. It meant that she had plenty of time to do nothing but admire her beloved boyfriend as he expertly navigated his way along the long, winding dirt road that led to their own little slice of heaven.

But during the final stretch, they could hear engines and the sounds of celebration in the distance. It would seem that someone else had booked part of the campsite for the weekend.

“Guess someone else wanted to take advantage of the last few days of summer as well,” Brandon remarked, clearly trying to keep the disappointment out of his voice.

And Sara couldn’t help but agree. She’d been very much looking forward to this time alone with her love, but if there were other people there…

Well, there was nothing to do about it now.

As they drew closer and made the final approach into the clearing that was the campsite proper, it became clear that this wasn’t just another family. There were over a dozen cars and just as many tents, if not more. Speakers were blaring music, albeit at a respectful level so as to not disturb anyone else too much.

“Oh my,” Sara murmured as she caught sight of a flash of white. This wasn’t just a bunch of other families stumbling onto the same hidden gem, these people were all together.
